“Twas the night before Christmas, at the Dogs of Beer
And the bloggers were prepared for some Holiday cheer.
Bottles from Delaware chilled in the beer fridge with care,
Preparing for the visitors that would next day be there
Tracey was nestled on the couch at the end
Having won several games of Words with Friends
Me in the bed, and my editor on the floor
Had just turned in for the night, and were starting to snore
When down in the barroom there arose such a clatter
We sprang from the room to see what was the matter.
Down to the basement like maniacs we tore
We flew down the stairs, and throw open the door.
The light from my beer fridge cast the barroom aglow
Like the moonlight that shines upon new fallen snow
When, what to our wondering eyes should we see
A man in a red suit, drinking with glee
A bundle of toys, lay on the floor in a sack
And his cheeks got rosier, as he tossed each beer back
His eyes – how they twinkled! Like a shiny new penny
And that distant look I get, when I’ve had one to many
He spoke not a word but went right to his task
Opening every bottle, and drinking every glass
The sight was so merry, it was hard to be peeved
After all, at this time, isn’t better to give than receive.
His task all complete, he spoke not a word
And we chuckled out loud, at this sight so absurd
He reached in his sack and pulled out beers I knew well
And put in my fridge, six bottles of Scaldis Noel
He closed the door quickly with a flick of his wrist
And faded from view, leaving a column of mist
Suddenly with vigor, we heard up on the roof
A prancing and pawing that sounded like hooves
We flew up the stairs and out into the night
And heard him call out as he flew out of sight
Now Stewarts, Iron Hill, Twin Lakes and 16 Mile
Now Argilla, Dogfish Head, 3rd Wave, Fordham and Dominion
To the top of the mash tuns and the fermenters so tall!!
Now brew away! Brew away! Brew away, all!!!!!!
So The Dogs of Beer say. to all both two legged and four,
Happy Holidays to everyone! From our house to yours!
